This training is designed to provide attendees with increased competence regarding ethical decision making. Common ethical dilemmas such as mandated reporting obligations, conflicts of interest, boundaries, scope of practice, and clinical documentation will be addressed along with the emerging ethical considerations presented by increased utilization of technology including telehealth, AI, and social media. Attendees will have the opportunity to review and apply relevant codes of ethics, rules, laws, and ethical decision-making models. Focus will be on Arizona regulations. Objectives: ● Participants will be able to identify and become familiar with sources of behavioral health ethical obligations (codes of ethics, Arizona state regulations, statutes,etc). ● Participants will gain knowledge regarding common ethical dilemmas and violations. ● Participants will be able to define dual relationships and conflicts of interest. ● Participants will gain knowledge regarding the implications of ethical violations. ● Participants will learn approaches to improving clinical documentation as it relates to ethical dilemmas. ● Participants will learn and practice utilizing ethical decision-making models.
