Working with Systems (Two Part Training)

Service Description

Providing therapy to a system (couple/family) poses unique ethical and clinical challenges. Attendees will discuss common challenges that arise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating couples and families and effective strategies for addressing or avoiding such situations. Participants will: •Gain knowledge and understanding of ethical considerations related to couple and family therapy. •Identify important elements of clinical documentation associated with couple and family therapy. •Identify and become familiar with skills for assessing and intervening in couple and family therapy. •Learn strategies for integrating effectively into family and couples systems and building rapport effectively with all system members. •Learn strategies for identifying historical patterns which influence present day systemic challenges and identify possible intervention points. •Be able to identify common clinical challenges and verbalize effective interventions for each challenge.
